To use 3G services you must have a 3G capable device. There are two kinds of 3G devices you should consider – HSPA and WCDMA enabled. We recommend using HSPA devices for higher speeds and the best 3G experience.
Remember 3G devices (as defined in India) only work on GSM networks. While CDMA-based 3X / EV-DO devices are also 3G devices, in India the generally-accepted definition of 3G doesn’t include CDMA services. If in doubt, check the packaging for explicit mention of the device having 3G capability.
Future devices will soon have a certifying logo from the GSM Association (see image on the right) certifying it to be capable of 3G & above capability.
